Rock Paper Scissor - Hyper Casual Game

Rock, Paper, Scissors - A HyperCasual Game
In the summer of 2021, I got accepted for a 10-week long internship at Mindstorm Studios in Lahore, Pakistan as a Game Designer. I was one of the lucky 9 (from which 3 were artists, 4 were programmers, and 2 designers) candidates who passed all the interviews and tests from over 1500 applicants. For the first 6 weeks we focused on an analytical dissection of HyperCasual Games (HCG) and their place in the market. We had regular discussions on Game Design Theory and System-1 Thinking for new ideas. We also hosted livestreams on Game Development Tutorials & Discussions from Industry Experts where the other applicants (fellows) could join in.
For the last 4 weeks, a Game Jam was held with all Interns and Fellows with the theme of 'HCG Runners'. We had intense Brainstorming sessions and spent long hours discussing different ideas and creating different prototypes until 1 week into the Game Jam when we finally decided to go with the theme of the popular Rock Paper Scissor game. With the help of my amazing teammates Aiyan (Programmer) and Hajra (Artist), I was successfully able to build a HCG in the rest of the 3 weeks.

The Game Jam had 243 people submitting 76 Games in Total! The Games were rated 50% on their design and implementation and 50% on their marketing test in which they calculated the Cost Per Install (CPI) index by investing $150 on each submission. The results came of the Competetition and our game Won the Game Jam and we became Rookies of the Year!
